Dr. Shanker spoke about the nature of self-regulation, the experiences that promote brain development in regards to self-regulation, and the factors that can impede its development. He discussed what teachers can do to enhance the self-regulation of each and every child.

We are a community service organization that works with parents, child care providers, businesses, and community organizations to help promote the availability of quality child care services in the area. We provide parents with child care referrals and information on evaluating quality child care, plus resources on various parenting issues. Child care referrals are provided free of charge and information collected from families will remain confidential. We offer child care providers access to valuable training and support services for new or established programs. We hope you enjoy the information and resources we offer on our website.      Child Care Aware is a non-profit initiative committed to helping parents find the best information on locating quality child care and child care resources in their community. We do this by raising visibility for local child care resource and referral agencies nationwide, and by connecting parents with the local agencies best equipped to serve their needs.
